Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-05-11

What this is

FreeRide is a project memory system for developers building with AI agents. This policy explains what data we collect when you use it, how we handle it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to freeride.dev and the FreeRide MCP server at mcp.freeride.dev.

FreeRide is operated by Nick (founder) from Greece. EU/EEA users: GDPR applies. California users: CCPA applies.

What we collect

  • Account information — your email address and (if you set one) display name. Provided when you create an account.
  • Project knowledge — the structured records the agent (or you) writes through FreeRide: features, decisions, ideas, completions, learnings, knowledge documents, file mappings, session metadata.
  • Usage data — counts of agent actions per week (used to enforce free-tier limits and meter usage).
  • Payment metadata — Stripe customer ID, subscription status, billing dates. Card numbers are handled by Stripe; we never see them.
  • Authentication cookies — required for keeping you signed in.

What we don't collect

  • Your source code. FreeRide stores project metadata; your repo stays in your repo.
  • Raw chat content from your AI conversations. Only the structured records the agent explicitly saves through FreeRide tools end up in our database.
  • Third-party trackers, analytics pixels, or advertising cookies.

Who processes your data on our behalf

  • Supabase — database, authentication. EU region. Privacy.
  • Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Privacy.
  • Resend — transactional email (Early Access invites, account notifications). Privacy.
  • Vercel — web hosting for freeride.dev. Privacy.
  • Fly.io — hosting for the MCP server at mcp.freeride.dev. Privacy.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

  • Account data — until you delete your account.
  • Project knowledge — same; deleted with the account, or earlier if you delete projects manually.
  • Free-tier history — limited to a rolling 30-day window. Pro tier keeps full history.
  • Payment records — retained as long as legally required (typically 7 years for invoicing in the EU).

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can: see your data via the FreeRide dashboard, export it, and delete your account. EU/EEA and UK users have additional GDPR rights (access, rectification, restriction, objection, portability). California users have CCPA rights.

To exercise any of these, email nick@freeride.dev. We respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll email you and update the effective date at the top. Continued use after the change means you accept the updated policy.
